Meditation panel

This is one of a series of hand dyed silk fabrics fixed to an acrylic painted canvas. They are small, vertical canvases keeping it personal. Hopefully quiet and meditative.

Recycled Garment Challenge

This jacket and top was made out of old clothing mostly 100% linen. This includes 2 linen skirts, 2 men's linen blend shirts, 1 metallic fabric blend jacket, 1 pair of linen pants. The buttons are also those that were on these garments.

The embellishing is still in progress. This is a Diane Ericson (Revisions) pattern called Fault Lines. It is a jacket and a sleeveless top (shown underneath the jacket).

Floral Breeze and Lunar Eclipse designs

These wax resist dyed pieces came out reminding me of floral breezes and lunar eclipses. Or perhaps meteor showers and soap bubbles???

Two pieces for "Transformation Show" done

These are two pieces for our Fiber Art Fusion group show in July called "Transformation." I have yet to title them at this moment, but they are done after hours and hours of beading.

Stars born in the universe

This is a small donation piece for B.R.A. being sponsored by http://www.fiberonawhim.com/

I didn't like the bird piece I was doing, so this is a new one.

"The aim of art is to represent not the outward appearance of things, but their inward significance, and this, and not the external manner and detail, is true reality." (Aristotle)

Inko-Dye Workshop

I attended a wonderful workshop sponsored by our Surface Design Group. Ray Pierotti gave the workshop and he is a patient, kind and wonderfully spiritual person. Here is a link: www.absolutearts.com/portfolios/r/raypierotti/

Work in progress: silk painting

Still working on this piece. Hand embroidery takes a long time.

Various pieces and types of dyed or painted silk were fused onto a background and being "painted" with embroidery thread. You'll have to click on the photo to see any details.

Re-doing the calla lilies scarf

I finished the scarf. Just need to wax and get the gutta out.

The calla lilies scarf is getting redone since the last one just didn't turn out the way I wanted.

Silk painting using wax as resist

This is a work in progress. Layers and layers of soy wax alternating with silk dyes. It's very time consuming and I can't wait to see how it'll turn out. That's corn syrup on the bottom portion creating the circular patterns.

Works in progress

Taking photos of works in progress helps me "see" the work in a new light. This helps me make changes to the paintings.
